I interviewed a Berkeley student in gym on friday. He is from China, and he has been in the school for 2 years. He chose Berkeley because Berkeley is near to San Francisco, and he loves the city. Also, Berkeley is a very famous university around the world, particularly in engineering. He said it is very hard for a Chinese student to apply for Berkeley. First, he needed to get a high SAT grades, it is very hard for a Chinese! And he had to participate in some social activities, in order to improve the success rate. He gave up the China university entrance examination! It must be a very hard choice!
He majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, he thought it is very hard for him. And he enjoys the environment in the campus and the friendly student.But he thought it was very incovenience for him to go to SF, he loves SF so much! He spent four hours everyday in his homework, even more! He taught me he enjoyed the every place in the campus, because he often hangs out with his girlfriend. And I asked what the difference between university in China and Berkeley, he taught me that university in China focused on knowledge in books, but Berkeley focused on knowledge in books and knowledge in practice!
