Interview with a UC Berkeley student (Becky)

I have interviewed a girl named Shirley, a UC Berkeley student who I always meet with on the way to my evening classes.

Shirley is from Sacramento and is going to be a sophomore in the next semester. She chose to apply for UC Berkeley because she was quite sure that UC Berkeley was the best university and she loved the study atmosphere here. From her view, it was pretty hard for her to get admitted to UC Berkeley because many competitive students wanted to study at UC Berkeley.

She is major in integrated biology now and she loves it, though she has just learned several pre-courses in her freshman year. And she decided to be a medical researcher after graduation. In the school hours, she spent most of her time in the library and spent about 3 hours doing her homework every day.

When it came to things that she liked the most about the school, she became excited and told me that she liked the challenging courses and GSI system in UC Berkeley the most. Moreover, she said that it was very cool to have a professor who was a Nobel laureate! She was also fond of various fun clubs and interesting events here. And what she liked the least was expensive textbooks.

She said that she always hanged out on campus and she recommended the Memorial Stadium and all the cafes in school to me. According to Shirley, cafes are great places for one to either relax oneself or study alone.

It was such a pleasant period of time spending and talking with Shirley!
