My trip to Stanford University (Becky)

On Saturday, I went to Stanford University with my good friend Sherry.

We spent about 2 hours on the road, taking bart and caltrain.  Through the window of caltrain, we can enjoy various landscape on the way. Then we reached Stanford Shopping Center. It is an amazing center with malls, stores, restaurants and cafes. Unique architecture and blooming roses here gave me great pleasure.

After a quick meal in this center, we walked to the Stanford campus. The first impressing sight was the Palm Road, a long and wide road with evergreen palm on both sides. After walking along the road for several minutes, we arrived at the Oval Park. And the sight of Memorial Church spreads in front of us at the same time. I did marvel at her classic and grand design.

There had been a wedding in the church just before our arrival. We fortunately met with people in dresses and suits, bubbling over with happiness and enthusiasm.

Our last destination at Stanford was Hoover Tower. It is a 285 feet structure and a landmark for the local community. The tower includes the Hoover Institution Library and Archives, an archive collection founded by Hoover before he became the United States president. On the top of the tower, we felt that a wide prospect of Stanford University opened below us.

After the trip to Stanford Universuty, we chose to have a big dinner at Cyprus Restaurant, a Persian restaurant in Shattuck Square. The tastes of dishes there were a little strange with unknow spices, but I still enjoyed them very much. We finally ended up the day in an exotic selection!
