In chapter one there are two negotiations, which show us personalities of Lee Chong and Mack.
Lee Chong is a smart and kind merchant. He owns a grocery store. He helped people who could not pay for the groceries. Horace, the former owner of his storage place, negotiated with Lee Chong that he wanted to exchange his storage for his debt. Afterwards, Horace committed suicide and Lee Chong got the storage. Then Mack knows about this and asked Lee Chong if he and his friends could move into the storage. Lee Chong thought this deal could bring him some profits and benefits, so he agreed with this deal with Mack.
