Interview with UC Berkeley student (Masha)

I've chosen an easy way and interviewed the the girl on the reception of my residential house. I wasn't very difficult, because she agreed at once, and, I think, was glad to help me. Her name is Kathy, and she is from Pasadena, CA. Recently she finished her first year in Berkeley and became a sophomore student. Kathy has double major: theater and French, wich seems very interesting to me. She attended this school 'by accident' as she told me: she sent her documents to several schools and didn't really care about getting admitted to Berkeley. But they admitted her easily and then Kathy decided to go here. The idea was to study at Berkeley for some time and then to transfer to another school, but she is content with UC Berkeley now and isn't planning to transfer. It wasn't hard for her, cause she was on the top 10 percent in her high school class, and the admit ion to one of the UC schools was guaranteed for her. The thing Kathy like most about Berkeley is that there is a huge community here an you have a lot of opportunity both in classes and on spare-time. And what she likes the least about it is necessity to take some required classes which isn't interesting and isn't needed for the future life. For her it's, for example, science classes. When I arrived, Kathy was doing her homework, she told me, that usually she spends couple hours a day doing it. Kathy is fond of hiking, so she likes to spend time walking around when it's nice outside. And there're tons of good cafes for a rainy weather, where she love to go with friends or to study.
Kathy was the first who began asking questions. It was a bit funny, cause she asked if I am a teacher. I had to say, that I am a teacher in my home country, but here I am a student. :)

This is Kathy. She's very nice, I think.
